The Flydressers' Guild is a non-profit organisation whose sole objective is to promote and cultivate the art of fly dressing. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in flytying.
We are a UK based organisation, but have over 450 overseas members, including a Branch in Tokyo, Japan and the Southern Appalachian Fly Tyers in the USA.
The Guild originates from the mid-1960's when a group of Hampshire flytyers, led by Don Haynes our founder, decided to form a flytying Club. The Club's first official meeting was held at the Anglers Inn, Bishopstoke, Hampshire in October 1967.
The rest as the say, "is history".
Today there are over 60 Branches and over 3,000 members worldwide.
Members are able to attend local Branch meetings, where a local Branch exists, or start their own Branch - providing they are able to meet the necessary criteria (please contact us for further information).
In the future we aim to have a virtual Cyber-Branch (Chat Room) so members in the same and different time zones are able to get together at anytime to share technique tips, new patterns etc. (This facility will be for members only).
