2010 FDG Tying Competition Results & Report

Just under one hundred entries in total across then ten classes; entries per class ranged from 2 to 33 with the dry fly proving most popular- I’m sure you can work out the average. In the Open, Dry fly, Saltwater/pike and Prizewinners’ class the level of entry was very good.

Certain branches are very proactive in promoting the competition and this needs to be encouraged further. This year Leeds and Ringwood branches topped numbers of entries with Sussex in the mix and Pendle branch members were also very successful.

The patterns for this years competition will be posted on the web shortly and different patterns have been selected for junior/novice and open/prizewinner trout and salmon classes to reflect the level of expertise anticipated.

Many apologies for delay release of the results – personal circumstances prevented a timely completion but the aim for next year is to have this completed to allow prizes to be presented at BFFI in June.
