WeatherWatch II
See the weather like the professionals do! WeatherWatch II is a completely free application for Windows and allows the user to download UK Met Office weather maps from the Internet.
Eleven maps make up the series and these may be animated so that you can see how the weather "rolls" across the UK and Europe over the next 132 hours.
To use WeatherWatch II we recommend a Broadband Internet connection and Windows XP or above. Just download the setup or run it from the Internet by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. Once installed you will see an icon on the desktop and an entry under the Start > Programs menu. Run WeatherWatch II and look at the menus at the top of the WeatherWatch screen and the status bar at the bottom.
File menu
Print- allows you to select and set up a printer to print the currently viewed map.
Exit - closes the application.
Download menu
Download maps - will connect (if Internet connection is available) to a remote
server to download the maps. Please be aware that the server used gets very
busy at different times of the day so a download could take a few seconds
to several minutes. As each map is being dowloaded visual indication is given
on the status bar and the bottom of the WeatherWatch II screen.
Download weather - gets the latest technical weather report
for a town of your choice (see Settings).
Settings menu
Full Size Map - this is a toggle switch that shows the map at full size or
resampled.
Resample - adjust the map size to suit your own requirements, the figures
refer to pixel width.
Weather @ - stores to location/area for your local weather report.
PASV - some firewalls will require you to operate in "passive ftp" mode,
use this toggle to select/deselect PASV mode.

FDG Web Site- Loads the Fly Dressers Guild web site.
Flybuyer Web Site - Flybuyer has kindly provided this
software to the FDG free of charge.

Status Bar
The status bar (bottom of the screen) provides the ability to select the
map you wish to view by simply clicking on the appropriate map with the
mouse. The animation from 00 to 132 hours can be run by clicking on the
"Hours +" area of the bar.
The Map Area
When the map is larger than the current window viewing size the map may be
scrolled by either using the scroll bars or "click and drag" with the mouse,
that is, with the mouse cursor over the map click and hold the left mouse
button down and reposition the map by dragging the mouse to the new location.
